Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of HR role is a new position for Edward Vinson.
With the support of a fractional HRD, EV have been working to develop and implement a strategic people plan for this fast paced and dynamic business. Now with a new HRIS in place but with much more still to do, the business is ready for a Head of HR who will take responsibility for continuing to deliver against the plan whilst providing day to day leadership for the rest of the HR team, including an experienced Payroll Manager and Recruitment Manager.
The right candidate will be a generalist with a strong employee relations background and an understanding of what it means to truly partner the business as an HR professional.
This is a hands on role which may suit someone who has been a strategic business partner and now feels ready to lead their own team. The role will continue to have the professional support and mentorship from the fractional HRD.
Responsibilities and Duties
Providing leadership, support and guidance for the HR team including direct and indirect reports.
Driving progress against the strategic people plan through consistent and regular monitoring and review processes.
Taking overall responsibility for the legal compliance of all people processes ensuring that the company stays current and compliant at all times.
Acting as business partner to the CEO and other SMT members, building strong relationships and an understanding of divisional plans and priorities so that this information can continue to inform the HR plans.
Working with Line Managers to build competence with management of employee relations matters in a proactive manner.
Ensuring Line Managers are focused on
continuous performance management and driving the initiatives in place to support this. Utilising data to drive decision making and providing the SMT and wider business with quality HR data and information as appropriate.
Driving development across all areas of the business, utilising tools and resources in place to analyse needs and drive appropriate solutions.
Providing support on senior level and office based recruitment activity, guiding and supporting senior managers on sourcing approach as well as selection processes.

Proven ability of building strong relationships across the business,
encouraging trust and openness. Skilled at communicating, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders to drive change.
Deep knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practices and a proven track record of managing ER cases.
Ability to provide pragmatic, risk-managed advice that supports business decisions while protecting the organisation.
Knowledge of recruitment systems, metrics, and best practices.
Understanding of payroll functionality including compliance, accuracy, and reporting obligations.
Understanding of reward frameworks (salary benchmarking, benefits, incentives).
High emotional intelligence to manage sensitive situations effectively.
Focus on using HR metrics, analytics, and insights to inform decisions.
Collaborative approach--able to work effectively with a part-time HR Director to implement strategic initiatives.
Comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day HR leadership while escalating strategic or complex issues appropriately.
Ability to translate high-level HRD direction into operational delivery across the business.
