Head of Inclusion / SENCO

This is a vital leadership role, overseeing the provision for all pupils with additional needs, driving high standards of inclusive practice, and championing the achievement and wellbeing of every learner.

The successful candidate will join the senior leadership team and will be responsible for shaping and leading the school's approach to SEND, EAL, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the strategic development of inclusive practice across the school. Managing the SEND provision, including overseeing EHCP processes, interventions, and specialist support. Supporting staff in delivering high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with additional needs. Working closely with parents, external agencies, and the wider community to ensure that pupils receive the best possible support. Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on the progress of pupils with SEND and those requiring additional support. Contributing to whole-school leadership and decision-making as part of the senior leadership team.
The Successful Candidate Will Have

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial teaching experience. The National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete it promptly if not yet held). Proven experience of leading SEND provision and/or inclusive practice. A deep understanding of current SEND legislation, guidance, and best practice. Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills. A strong commitment to ensuring outstanding outcomes for all pupils, regardless of need. A strategic vision for inclusion and a passion for making a difference.
