Navantia UK are seeking an experienced and driven
Head of Industrial Security
to lead and manage all aspects of protective security across the organisation. This pivotal role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and assets, while aligning with business goals and compliance obligations.
The successful candidate will take a risk-based, proportionate approach to physical, personnel, information and cyber security, and manage relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders including government agencies and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Personnel Security:
Oversee vetting, induction, training and awareness programmes, supervision, aftercare, investigations and incident reporting.
Physical Security:
Advise on and supervise measures to meet operational needs, including secure storage facilities and physical access controls across sites.
Information Assurance:
Manage all classified information throughout its lifecycle--creation to destruction--ensuring compliance with standards and accountability processes.
Cyber/IT Security:
Collaborate with Cyber Security and Technical teams to address risks, system accreditation, and documentation of all CIS assets.
Policy & Compliance:
Develop, implement and audit security policies, processes, and controls. Provide incident response and recommendations.
Supply Chain Security:
Ensure security compliance within contracts and Security Aspects Letters (SALs).
Security Operations:
Monitor threats, conduct investigations, and ensure continuous protection of company assets.
Security Education:
Design and deliver awareness programmes and induction training across the business.
Team Leadership:
Manage and develop both the Corporate and Port Facility Security Teams.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with UK Government and security agencies.
Bid Support:
Contribute to proposals by providing security risk assessments and strategic input.
Travel:
Ability to travel to any of the physical sites.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Defence or HMG environment, particularly within an FSC or protective security role.
Deep understanding of UK Government Security Procedures, the Security Policy Framework, and Information Assurance Standards.
Experience with Physical Security Information Management Systems (PSIMs).
Strong grasp of security disciplines including document control, personnel vetting, and security operations.
Demonstrated leadership capability--managing teams, mentoring staff, and driving performance.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities; adept at handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Eligibility for UK National Security Vetting (SC level). Due to the nature of this role, UK nationals only.
