Are you passionate about creating commercially focused internal communications strategies and tactics? Do you have experience working in internal comms within the Reinsurance/ Insurance industry? If yes this could be the internal communications role you have be looking for where you can lead the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy, ensuring colleagues are informed, engaged and aligned with the organisation's purpose, values and priorities. This role manages internal communications channels and platforms, driving consistency, clarity and impact across the colleague experience.
This is a fixed term contract based in our London office offers flexibility to work in the office at virtually at home.

What the day will look like
You will manage the day-to-day internal communications for Aon's USD2.7bn reinsurance business which includes 5,000 global colleagues. Partnership with solution line c-suite leadership and marketing and communications colleagues will be central to the success of the role in the activation of effective internal communications.
We know that our strategies succeed when we effectively communicate our business plans to our colleagues and educate them on product innovation and market dynamics. This is where you will manage the drafting of internal communications and tailoring to suit our global, regional and product expert audiences and their specific needs. As you ensure internal communications adhere to parameters established by our Communications team, additional direct responsibilities include:

• Strategic Leadership: Advise leaders on effective colleague engagement, change communications and leadership visibility.
• Channel Ownership & Optimisation: Manage internal communications channels, including intranet (Aon Avenue), email, newsletters, collaboration platforms and colleague townhalls.
• Content & Campaign Delivery: Manage the creation and delivery of compelling, audience-focused content that informs, inspires and connects colleagues. Lead strategic campaigns around key initiatives and ensure messaging is aligned, timely and tailored to diverse colleague groups.
• Leadership & Change Communications: Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver communications that support organisational change, strategy rollouts, and performance updates.
• Collaboration & Culture: Work closely with HR to support the delivery of the firm's people strategy and ensure internal communications support colleague experience and culture
• Copywriting - Draft global/regional/segment internal emails that communicate the firm's business plan, colleague newsletters, client wins, townhall scripts and c-suite leadership emails. Specific immediate focus will be on communicating and reinforcing the firm's growth priorities for 2026
• How this opportunity is different

As our Head of Internal Communications, you will be the driving force behind this key capability for the firm. You will report to and work hand-in-hand with the Marketing & Communications leadership and the wider team, partnering with the business, global and regional business leaders, and other internal teams including content, brand, digital, communications, creative, media/PR amongst others.
This role involves strategic input but is first and foremost hands-on--a "doing" role where thinking meets action. You will write, coordinate and deliver standout internal communications content.
Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Proven experience in leading internal communications within a complex organisation.
• Insurance/ Reinsurance experience essential.
• Understanding of internal channels and digital communications platforms.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proven stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
• Able to manage a programme of work and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Developing leadership communications capability, including coaching senior leaders on tone, storytelling, and delivery across internal channels.
• Experience of insurance or reinsurance would be beneficial.

Education

• Degree or equivalent work experience.
