Purpose
The Head of IT Operations ensures oversight and assurance for IT Business as usual provision and support. The role will be responsible for leading, designing and delivering end to end solutions using a multitude of applications and technologies to all colleagues.
The postholder will lead the IT element of business development, ensuring that technical solutions are written into our bids in conjunction with the commercial department and other enterprise architecture departments from requirements capture, high level design, low level design, development and delivery. The role will be responsible for leading the contracts transition team to ensure that all mobilisation and demobilisations run smoothly across all IT elements.
The role will design and advocate for streamlined and efficient practices and solutions, working with the Solutions Architecture department, designing solutions by leveraging our existing toolset (Microsoft) to ensure that solutions deliver value to the business and are resilient, scalable, well managed, performant and cost-effective.
This role will lead our service desk provision. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of that provision.
This role will be the primary contact for suppliers across the directorate, working closely with the internal procurement team to ensure rigorous supplier management, holding suppliers to contractual obligations and leveraging opportunities to maximise relationships.
Reporting directly to the Director of Technology they will work closely with all members of the Technical Directorate and be a key part of the IT Leadership structure, working with the Head of Technology Architecture, Head of Security Architecture, Head of Solutions Architecture and Data Architecture.
