We are currently looking for a Head of Kitchen based at Keresforth Primary School. If you are successful, you will join a small team of enthusiastic and hardworking individuals in the kitchen to produce daily nutritious school meals. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 and 14:00pm, where you will be responsible for managing a team of 2 staff members.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Head of Kitchen in one of the Boroughs schools.
Working within the Barnsley Schools Catering servicet, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the children receive a healthy, tasty meal.
About the role
Working within the schools catering service you will provide excellent customer service and a high-quality food offer. With an in-depth understanding of health and safety and food safety you will produce fresh, tasty meals from a healthy school food standards compliant menu. It is important to support the delivery of the Council's core priorities and support Directorates to deliver efficient and effective services.
Reporting to the Area Supervisor you will lead a small kitchen, keeping abreast of legislative changes and yours and your team's training and development needs. You will be ordering and controlling your own stock and monitoring and recording all meals that you produce.
About you
The successful candidate will be an existing Head of Kitchen or someone ready to take the next step in their career. Adopting an enthusiastic, positive attitude to problem solving, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should be able to adapt their approach, behaviours, and actions to address the tasks in hand being able to work as part of a core team. They should also be flexible in their approach to meet the demands of the business unit and wider council. You will be the type of person who thrives on a challenge and can use your skills to deliver outcomes that really make a difference.
