to lead the in-house legal function for a fast-growing telecoms business. You will oversee solicitors, paralegals, and external legal providers, ensuring all legal matters are managed effectively, efficiently, and aligned with business objectives. This role combines leadership, operational excellence, and commercial acumen, with a focus on the highly regulated telecom sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the internal legal team.
Oversee the contract lifecycle (drafting, reviewing, negotiation, and renewal) across telecom agreements, including wholesale, interconnect, vendor, and regulatory contracts.
Ensure governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks meet telecom sector requirements.
Advise leadership on regulatory obligations (Ofcom, GDPR, spectrum licensing, competition law, etc.).
Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost discipline and quality delivery.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, supporting strategic projects such as M&A, infrastructure rollouts, and new market entry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Qualified solicitor (UK) or equivalent legal qualification.
Minimum 10 years PQE, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in telecoms or another highly regulated sector is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial agreements, and telecom-specific regulation.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and external counsel.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

This role is based in Canary Wharf, London, Monday to Friday.
