Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Head of Legal in the Legal Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
This key role, as part of the Lotus Cars Limited Senior Management Team, is responsible for supervising the legal team and leading the provision of legal advice and guidance across a broad range of issues, including risk management and legislative compliance.
The successful candidate will oversee a wide spectrum of legal services for Lotus Cars Limited, including regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, litigation, and employment-related matters.
What you'll do:

• Advise Lotus Cars Limited on broad range of legal framework, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, litigation, financing, data protection, cross border corporate transactions etc. on timely manner and reduce exposure to the potential risks.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial / investment contracts and assessing the risks of such contracts, to support various business functions.
• Provide legal support in respect of the governmental policies / law enforcement requests for the various projects and able to handle the legal challenges before the governmental agencies / regulatory bodies.
• Able to identify the legal issues or potential legal risks and resolve the issues or risks with the senior management effectively.
• Provide legal support to the senior management of Lotus Cars Limited from time to time.
• Provide corporate secretarial supports, where necessary.
• Supervising the legal team by providing support and guidance to the members from time to time.
• Managing external and internal legal resources, ensuring the system controls and processes are appropriate and relevant.

What you'll bring:

• Substantial post-qualification experience as a legal professional, preferably within the automotive sector.
• A Degree in Law
• Strong background in litigation and dispute resolution.
• Law degree (or equivalent) and relevant professional qualifications.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent analytical and legal drafting skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues for non-legal audiences.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative and pragmatic approach.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience working cross-functionally and across international teams is highly desirable.

Additional Information:

• This role will be working from our Hethel plant within our flexible working policy however the successful candidate would be required on-site at Hethel 3 days per week
