Lead the sound, lighting, and live production operations for Linby Ltd's touring shows and in-house events from our Linby base.

Location

: Linby, Nottinghamshire (with regular UK-wide touring)

Contract

: Full-time, ongoing (initial 12-month fixed term with review)

Overview:

Linby Ltd is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled 'Head of Live'

Productions

to oversee our in-house and touring production and administration operations.

Working from our Linby headquarters, you will lead all aspects of live sound, lighting, and stage production across a busy calendar of UK tours and events, including Nashville At Heart, The Runrig Experience, Dire Straits by Candlelight and Ed&Taylor.com, as well as many other national productions and internal company projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical ability, operational management, and creative problem-solving. You'll manage the company's production equipment, oversee all show preparation and logistics, and take a leading role on the road delivering professional-level sound and lighting.

You'll also liaise closely with venues, ticketing outlets, promoters, and the company's management team to ensure every performance runs to the highest possible standard -- often working to tight deadlines and under pressure, where calm decision-making and attention to detail are critical.

Key responsibilities include:



Leading all live production operations across sound, lighting, and stage infrastructure. Including mixing FoH and Monitors Managing and maintaining all production equipment based at Linby Ltd's premises. Acting as lead technician for live shows, delivering professional front-of-house sound and lighting. Working at pace in high-pressure touring environments while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Liaising with venues, promoters, and ticketing outlets to advance shows and resolve technical issues. Planning, preparing, and administering tour logistics alongside company management. Managing technical documentation including show files, patch lists, lighting designs, and inventories. Ensuring safe working practices, vehicle loading standards, and compliance with health and safety policies. Assisting with rehearsals, internal events, and pre-production requirements. Supervising and supporting freelance engineers or technical crew where required.
This position is ideal for a skilled live engineer with leadership experience who thrives in fast-moving environments and is passionate about delivering exceptional production quality at every level.

Essential Skills and Experience



Proven experience in live sound and lighting operation within touring or small-medium scale event environments. Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with Dante (audio networking) and DMX (lighting control). Excellent working knowledge of PA systems, mixing consoles, and lighting desks. High competence under pressure, with the ability to adapt quickly and solve problems on the move. Excellent organisational and multitasking ability with a meticulous eye for detail. Good communication and leadership skills, with experience managing small technical teams. A musical ear and appreciation of live performance. Full UK driving licence (experience with Luton or 3.5T vehicles advantageous). Willingness and availability to travel extensively within the UK, Europe & Dubai as part of touring operations.

Desirable



Experience in production management and/or tour coordination. Familiarity with MasterTour or similar touring software. Basic lighting design software experience.
