Cambridge, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job description

Head of Marketing

Location: Cambridge | Working Pattern: Full-time (4-day week, Tuesday to Friday)

Ready to join one of the UK's fastest growing re-commerce brands?

WeBuyVintage is on the hunt for a strategic, ambitious, and hands-on Head of Marketing to lead and shape the next chapter of our brand and growth.

This isn't just any old marketing job. You'll be building a national brand from the ground up, working with entrepreneurial founders with limitless ambition across a growing portfolio of disruptive businesses in the vintage, antiques and pre-owned jewellery space.

We're a business that puts people first. With a 4 day working week (because work-life balance matters!), our city-centre Cambridge office is shared with other start-ups and creators with unlimited barista coffee, beer on tap, events and an energy that makes work feel exciting again.

Who We Are

WeBuyVintage is a leading UK buyer of jewellery, antiques and collectibles. We run more roadshows (or valuation days) than any other company in the UK - 100+ per month. We bring our trusted valuation and buying service to the heart of communities across the country.

In less than 2 years, we've grown into an 8-figure revenue business and we're developing new disruptive ventures to continue our exponential growth. The opportunity ahead is massive - and we're looking for the right person to help us fulfil our potential.

The Role

As Head of Marketing, you'll take a leading role in bringing our endless list of ideas to life at speed. This is the first dedicated marketing position in the company, meaning you'll need to be able to flick seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You will work closely with the founding team to strategically build your "supporting cast" of hires, freelancers and agencies to deliver big things.

Your role will encompass multiple marketing disciplines and a wide range of responsibilities, so we will look favourably upon experienced 'marketing generalists' that can think big too.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the marketing strategy across all channels to support growth targets.

Co-ordinate, brief and manage the outputs with external agencies and freelancers maintaining productive, professional relationships.

Optimise the customer experience and brand perception to turn customers into loyal brand advocates.

Collaborate and communicate with internal teams across the business to align marketing efforts with business operations.

Organise and leverage existing customer data to maximise value, recency and frequency of each customer.

Work alongside our Events team to increase roadshow attendance, balancing between hyper-local community-based marketing and mass advertising.

Improve our online presence through web development, SEO, social media account management, paid social, review collections, etc.

Identify and test highly efficient marketing channels and manage execution from end-to-end.

Support the launch strategy and ongoing success of new brands and business opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of marketing experience in B2C, ideally within re-commerce, events, retail or lifestyle brands.

Experience marketing to over-50s audiences is a big plus.

Experience in a scale-up environment, turning an early-stage business into a national brand.

The ability to think high-level but still get stuck in on execution - you're a 'thinker' and a 'do-er'.

Experience running both offline and online marketing campaigns.

Strong digital marketing knowledge and ability to use and optimise digital platforms.

Highly organised and proactive, capable of managing and prioritising a long list of projects.

Commercial mindset with a data-led approach

Somebody full of enthusiasm and initiative who can progress and shape the future of the Marketing Function.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary

True work life balance with a 4-day working week (Tuesday to Friday).

Opportunity to work with and report into the founding team.

A collaborative, ambitious team in a people-first organisation.

Free coffee, tea and beer on tap in one of Cambridge's most vibrant spaces.
