JOB TITLE: Head of Marketing, Communications and PR

BASE: Hybrid

DEPARTMENT: Income & Engagement

REPORTING TO: Director Income & Engagement

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week

SALARY: \xc2\xa350,000 per annum

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Brand Lead, Marketing Lead, PR Lead and Communications Lead
The North West Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for raising over \xc2\xa312m every year to fund lifesaving missions across the North West. Sharing our stories, the stories of our patients and galvanising the community behind us is key to ensuring that we can continue to provide lifesaving care to those who need us.

As part of our long-term strategy, the Charity is undergoing a process of digital transformation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing our marketing and communications capabilities so that we can thrive in the digital environment.

Our supporters are become younger and more digitally savvy and we recognise that we need to adapt to ensure that we are engaging with all supporters in ways appropriate for them. The successful candidate for this role will have a proven track-record of managing effective, segmented, multi-channel marketing activity that delivers results.

Overall purpose of the role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing NWAA\xe2\x80\x99s brand, marketing and communications (internal and external) strategies. Key objectives include:

  • Building brand awareness, positive reputation and ongoing support for the Charity across the North West
  • Working with internal stakeholders to develop a cohesive \xe2\x80\x98supporter experience\xe2\x80\x99 across online and offline channels that maximises supporter engagement
  • Leading the process of digital marketing transformation ensuring the Charity is maximising the opportunities available from digital channels
  • Ensuring our range of programmes, events and retail outlets across the North West are properly marketed and communicated so they can achieve their full potential
  • Acting as a sounding board for internal stakeholders who have responsibility for running their own campaigns
Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop NWAA\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications strategies, designed to build brand awareness, positive image and support for the charity as well as ensure alignment with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s brand values and overall strategy.
  • Leading the process of digital marketing transformation, working with other teams to provide them with the tools, support and expertise they need to achieve their objectives.
  • Coordinate and support the development of the \xe2\x80\x98digital supporter experience\xe2\x80\x99 working with team leads to develop and deploy digital communications throughout the supporter lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all operational media/press is managed and planned in conjunction with operational leads and builds on the NWAA brand and awareness of it, making sure that all press releases and responses are aligned with NWAA\xe2\x80\x99s stated objectives, values and confidentiality
  • Provide the Marketing & Communications team with the leadership and support they need to ensure effective and creative delivery of their objectives in line with the agreed standards, processes and procedures
  • Work in conjunction with the clinical leads to ensure that all press/media calls regarding missions are dealt with appropriately
  • Work in conjunction with the needs of fundraising and retail to increase income generation by advising on appropriate marketing and communication strategies
  • Regularly review the performance of the marketing and communications activities to ensure maximum coverage and penetration, working with the team to assess new opportunities and making recommendations to the Director of Income & Engagement
  • Take the lead in all internal communications and key messaging to promote full engagement of the workforce and alignment with the NWAA brand and values
  • Manage the marketing budget to ensure that the strategic imperatives of the marketing and communications strategy are delivered
  • Be an ambassador for NWAA, providing the management team and colleagues across the organisation with the advice needed regarding the appropriate use of the charity\xe2\x80\x99s brand identity and ensuring that the NWAA brand and reputation are protected and promoted at every opportunity.
  • Ensure that NWAA\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications activities take full advantage of digital marketing, social media, and analytics, effectively promoting digital campaign reach and successes.
  • Manage third-party providers as necessary, ensuring delivery of SLAs as agreed for brand campaigns and crisis communications
  • Collate monthly Marketing & Communications KPI reports for the Director of Income & Engagement, highlighting any key successes and risks, and also significant variances and key trends.
  • Manage the charity\xe2\x80\x99s social media presence and website, ensuring it remains accurate and engaging and performs in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Manage the design and ongoing updates of the online sales platform, ensuring that the proposition and sales process takes every opportunity to promote the NWAA Brand and that the communication is clear and consistent with the key Brand messages.
  • Provide the Director of Income & Engagement with regular progress reports including delivery of key performance indicators as required
