We're looking for an
experienced and dynamic Head of Marketing
to join our
high-performing Marketing team.
In this role, you will
spearhead the strategy
for our market-leading wet and dry pet food brands, driving
growth, innovation, and brand love.
This role can be based in Crick, Northampton or Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Key Accountability:
Delivers Results
- To lead a marketing team to deliver the local partition & portfolio and budgeted sales & profit targets. To translate central portfolio strategy and vision into partition brand plans and building blocks for sales execution in store, with packaging and range that makes brands easy to find and shop.
Creates compelling Portfolio strategies and brand plans
- To turn data into insight to create actionable plans for sales and retailer execution. To set a compelling year +1 brand plan, cascaded from the central portfolio plan and strategy, with clear direction, execution levers, building blocks and success measures. Engages colleagues at deployment days and external retail partners at brands days with inspiring category growth plans that secure execution of brand growth building blocks.
Communication and Media Planning
- Develop and manage communication plans that get the brand noticed and drive a consumer engagement, and sales return ROI. Develop and lead media plans that maximise brand health and sales return against A&P investment. Measure and track A&P effectiveness and ROI. Develop and manage trade marketing and activation plans that drive retailer engagement and support execution and brand activation in store or on-line.
Innovation planning -
NPD - to lead the development of a healthy local pipeline of incremental and margin additive innovation that executes the central brand and portfolio strategy and drives branded growth into new needs, channels or usage occasions. EPD - to constantly renovate the portfolio for maximum consumer or cost advantage (NAMO). Range - to lead the execution of a healthy and profitable range portfolio, executing the central range rationalisation, maximising profitable core sales and minimising complexity.
Commercial and People Leader -
Contribute to an effective Commercial Leadership Team, best deploying investment and resources to maximise and deliver the sales plan through the S&OP process and DMR. Lead and manage the local business unit team to execute and deliver results through an engaged, and focused team.
Decision making authority
- Accountable for A&P within defined budget and P&L position and for branded sales and profit targets.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Degree calibre with significant post graduate experience
Significant commercial experience in a branded business
Proven track record of outstanding business growth
FMCG operational understanding, ideally with PE experience, and cross functional experience
Proven track record of building strong brands and strong key commercial relationships
Pet experience beneficial but not mandatory

Location: Thirsk or Crick based (Hybrid - 3 days on site)
Salary: Competitive
20% annual company bonus scheme
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday
