Job Description

Head of Marketing - Exhibitions
Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day from home - East London/South West Essex area)
Up to 60k DOE + Bonus
About the Company
Excited to be recruiting for a leading UK events organisation, recognised for delivering some of the country's most successful exhibitions, conferences, and digital communities across construction, design, and consumer sectors. With a strong creative culture, collaborative environment, and award-winning reputation, this is a business that values innovation, data-driven strategy, and bold marketing ideas.
They're now looking for an accomplished Head of Marketing to lead the marketing strategy for two flagship B2B exhibitions and an associated digital content platform. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior marketing professional to take ownership of high-profile brands and drive audience growth, engagement, and commercial success.
The Role
As Head of Marketing, you'll shape and execute the marketing strategy across digital, social, PR, partnerships, and on-site activations. Reporting to the Divisional Director, you'll manage a talented team of three, covering campaign delivery, content production, and digital engagement.
You'll play a pivotal role in refreshing brand positioning, developing audience acquisition strategies, and ensuring that marketing efforts directly contribute to sales performance and ROI. It's a strategic, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced events environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing strategies across digital, social, PR, and event channels.
  • Drive visitor and exhibitor acquisition for large-scale B2B exhibitions.
  • Oversee digital content, email automation, and user journey optimisation to boost engagement.
  • Manage and optimise marketing budgets to achieve efficiency and measurable returns.
  • Evolve and oversee the brand's digital platform, newsletters, and community engagement.
  • Introduce innovative marketing tools, channels, and creative approaches (including AI) to enhance performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing marketing team.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and content teams to ensure alignment across commercial and creative goals.
  • Support exhibition marketing strategy, speaker campaigns, and audience engagement initiatives.
  • Build and manage partnerships with media, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor campaign analytics, KPIs, and ROI to continuously improve performance.
About You
We're looking for a confident, creative, and commercially-minded marketing leader who brings both strategic insight and hands-on execution skills. You'll have:
  • 8+ years' experience in marketing large-scale B2B events. Exhibitions preferred, conference and other events experience will be considered.
  • Ideally, you'll be a Senior Marketing Manager ready to take your next career step, OR currently a Head of Marketing, looking for a change and new challenge.
  • Proven success in developing and delivering multi-channel campaigns that drive measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including automation, segmentation, and content-led engagement.
  • Experience leading and motivating a small team.
  • Excellent communication, copywriting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making with a flair for creative storytelling.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders.
What's on Offer
  • Up to 60k base salary + performance bonus.
  • Hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 day remote).
  • Opportunity to lead marketing for high-profile, nationally recognised events.
  • Supportive, collaborative company culture that values creativity and results.
  • Private healthcare and workplace pension.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Generous holiday allowance plus bank holidays.
  • Birthday day off - with a gift and cake!
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Regular social events and wellbeing initiatives.
