Head of Marketing (HoM) \xe2\x80\x93 Rare, Immunology & HAE

This role is based in our Paddington, London office.

The Head of Marketing \xe2\x80\x93 Rare, Immunology & HAE leads all Marketing activities relating to promoted products in Rare, Immunology & HAE in the UK. To lead the cross-functional Brand Team in the development of the Strategic Marketing Plans for Rare Immunology and HAE, ensuring the tactical execution of these plans, In-Field Market Access Managers, Medical Affairs, Professional Relations (PR) Manager. Establish and maintain strong relationships with UK KOLs and other stakeholders in the therapy areas. To be the main UK marketing representative in Rare Immunology & HAE from the UK Rare BU for EUCAN and Global commercialisation activities.

The Head of Marketing \xe2\x80\x93 Rare, Immunology & HAE is responsible for the delivery of specific brand plan(s) (by therapy area/division), this will be achieved by ensuring the Senior Account Leads are given clear direction and are held accountable for the delivery of account plans. A key element of the role is to ensure effective use of Omnichannel Engagement with external audiences, displaying sound commercial thinking and integrated working across the business units, adhering to company values and standards of governance, whilst at the same time promoting a culture conducive to on-going development and performance improvement. Collaboration and alignment across the Rare BU Leadership Team on core initiatives is essential.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure revenue and profitability targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
  • Develop a vision for the Rare Business Unit in line with Takeda UK\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and company values in conjunction with the Rare Disease Business Unit Director, Rare Business Unit Leadership Team and Cross-functional peers. To provide direction to members of the sales force.
  • Ensure effective development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan(s), potentially also for the other promoted brands in line with the Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s Commercial & Business Strategy and achievement of commercial targets.
  • Leadership of the cross-functional Rare Immunology & HAE Brand Teams.
  • To develop and maintain the skills and competencies required to ensure the marketing activities within the BU meet the needs of customers, achieve commercial objectives and reflect Takeda\xe2\x80\x99s values-based approach.
  • To ensure robust processes are in place for the selection, performance management and development of the Sales and Marketing teams.
  • In conjunction with the Business Unit Director and cross-functional peers develop and implement a strategy that encourages the best people to join and remain with Takeda through the delivery of excellence in people development and succession planning.
  • In conjunction with the L&D Manager identify the training needs of team and ensure appropriate coaching, development and support programmes are put in place to build a high-performance team. This includes Senior Account Leads and commissioning relevant training programmes to meet learning needs.
  • In conjunction with the Training and Development Manager evaluate the effectiveness of learning/training interventions, including foundation training programs.
  • Build a Marketing team where members take personal accountability for their work, deliver business and patient outcomes and work collaboratively with both colleagues and customers.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous development and performance improvement through the implementation of appropriate tools and processes, including the company CRM system.
  • To effectively manage organizational change and to support others through such transitions, and create a culture that is proactive, agile and anticipates future changes, and builds flexibility into work plans.

Key knowledge and/ or experience needed
  • Educated to degree level, ABPI qualified (scientific or life sciences degree desired)
  • Marketing qualifications(s) eg MBA, Diploma in marketing desirable, especially OCE experience.
  • Significant Marketing experience and sales team management experience in UK pharmaceutical industry; ideally a successful period of sales achievement at representative level. Experience in the Medical or Market Access Team may be an alternative.
  • Management: People management experience within a field based or head office role
  • Cross functional experience: Leadership role within marketing related functions eg Medical, Market Access, Business Intelligence
  • Ability to inspire and motivate individuals and teams to take action around complex business and customer challenges.
  • Ability and willingness to make appropriate business decisions independently.
  • Ability to coach experienced professionals to achieve even greater performance.
  • Ability to develop and critique business and account plans.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships in complex organisations.
  • Ability to proactively manage the delivery of complex business projects.
  • Ability to plan and organize own and team\xe2\x80\x99s workload to deliver corporate objectives.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including delivery of impactful oral communication.
  • Ability to prepare robust sales forecasts and critically analyse financial information.
  • Ability to influence others and successfully negotiate mutually beneficial solutions for interested parties.
