The Head of Monitoring is a key global role within Swiss Re Compliance, responsible for leading assurance activities across Swiss Re group. The assurance activities performed monitor the effectiveness of the controls supporting the mitigation of Compliance Risks. The role requires strong leadership and assurance expertise. The Head of Monitoring is responsible for the strategic direction, development and operational efficiency of members of the Compliance Assurance team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
Lead, coach and develop talent within team
Develop and lead the delivery of the annual Compliance Assurance Plan
Plan, progress and monitor delivery of the annual Compliance Plan
Drive Assurance reporting and contribute to the timely execution of Compliance reporting
Promote and participate in strategic planning, execution and enhancements to the Compliance programs and Compliance Risk Assessment process
Promote and participate in exchange across the Compliance Function
Compliance Assurance Expertise
Define, develop & maintain the global, standardized assurance framework including definition of terminology and service offerings
Lead the annual review of monitoring programs and monitor delivery of assurance services
Lead and drive the further development of Compliance Assurance analytics and data driven monitoring by working closely with the Compliance Digital and Analytics team
Define and maintain global and targeted Compliance monitoring plans
Perform Compliance Assurance services pursuant to the Compliance Assurance Plan and Compliance Assurance Methodology
Provide Assurance reporting to key stakeholders (e.g. Senior Management, Group Audit Committee)
Collaborate on misconduct investigations with the Compliance Investigations Team
Drive the cross functional assurance relationships
Establish and maintain relationships with Swiss Re Business Units Governance teams and other first line colleagues
About the Team
This position reports directly to the Head of Compliance Assurance and forms part of the broader leadership group led by the Chief Compliance Officer. The Compliance Assurance team consists of 12 professionals working across global locations. Key responsibilities encompass compliance monitoring and oversight of misconduct investigations, delivered through the Compliance Investigation subunit within Assurance. The team maintains regular collaboration with other functions including Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, Business Governance, Group Internal Audit, and Risk Management.

You're a pragmatic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for building effective compliance frameworks. Your strong analytical mindset helps you identify emerging risks, while your project management expertise ensures flawless execution. You excel at presenting complex information clearly to influence stakeholders at all levels.
We would like you to have:
University or equivalent qualification
Solid compliance, audit or risk management experience, preferably in a financial services company
Demonstrated Interest in Data Driven auditing/assurance
Solid understanding of control processes and systems
Strong ability to identify risk and assess process controls
These are additional nice to haves:
Knowledge of re/insurance business operations and regulatory environment
Prior team management experience
Multilingual skills (fluent English required, additional languages a plus)

The base salary range for this position is between 120,000 and 180,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
