Our client, a global FTSE100 listed utilities firm, is seeking a Head of Operational Technology to join their team. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation and management of technology systems and infrastructure across the business.

As the Head of Operational Technology, you will lead and guide a team of technology professionals in a dynamic environment. You will be developing and implementing engineering policies and procedures for Protection and Control systems, Distributed Management Systems (DMS), SCADA, Telecommunications, Network Automation, Active Network Management and managing the support interfaces with telecoms and other suppliers.

Key responsibilities include managing technology projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and working closely with other departments to identify and address operational technology needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technology background and a track record of successful project delivery.

About you:

• Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer or equivalent with a strong understanding of statutory, regulatory & license requirements, industry-wide codes, and network and engineering standards.
• Good theoretical and practical understanding of electrical protection, control and telecommunication systems as applied to distribution networks.
• Extensive experience in developing procedures and documentation of work to meet lead times.
• The ability to develop and implement engineering strategies, as well as the ability to lead and develop a team.
• You should have the judgement to make sound decisions under pressure, ensuring safety standards are maintained whilst delivering value.
