Our client, a leading joinery and office fit out specialist based in Epping, is seeking a highly organised and experienced Head of Operations to oversee the day-to-day running of the business and ensure the successful delivery of projects from design through to installation.
This is a key leadership role within the company, ideal for someone with strong commercial awareness, operational expertise, and a background in bespoke joinery or fit out.
The Role
The Head of Operations will be responsible for managing the operational performance of the business, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with directors, project managers, production, and installation teams to drive efficiency, maintain quality control, and support the company's continued growth.
Responsibilities
Oversee all operational aspects of the business, including production, logistics, and project delivery
Lead and support project managers, site teams, and workshop staff to ensure smooth coordination across all departments
Implement and monitor efficient operational processes and systems to optimise performance
Manage resource planning, project scheduling, and capacity management
Ensure all projects meet company quality standards, health & safety requirements, and client expectations
Monitor budgets, costs, and timelines, identifying and addressing potential risks early
Drive continuous improvement in productivity, workflow, and communication between office and workshop
Work closely with senior management to support business strategy and long-term planning
Requirements
Proven experience in an operations or senior project management role within joinery, fit out, or construction
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent understanding of joinery manufacturing and fit out processes
Commercially astute with strong budgeting and cost control ability
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to implement structure, process, and accountability across teams
