Head Of Operations (events & Company Operations)

Fulham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About Cosmonauts

Headquartered in London, with hubs in Vietnam and Uganda, Cosmonauts delivers around 20 events across three continents. Our events are focused on new technology and its real-world implementation in specific verticals like Legal and Space.

We are ambitious and fast-growing, generating 3m in annual revenues and expanding profitably at approximately 120% per annum.

In addition to this organic growth, several strategic initiatives are underway, each of which could double the size of the business in a short space of time.

To help us shape and manage this growth, Cosmonauts is seeking a pro-active and dynamic Head of Operations.

Role Overview

The Head of Operations will lead efficiency and scalable growth across all facets of Cosmonauts' operations. While the initial focus will be the logistics and delivery around our events, the scope of the role will gradually broaden to encompass the entire operational footprint of the company as it scales internationally.

This is a senior leadership position with a potential pathway to Chief Operating Officer, offering strategic influence and the opportunity to shape an enterprise targeting 10m+ turnover in the near term.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and enhance company-wide operations, spanning event logistics, business processes, and administrative functions. Design and implement scalable operational systems, processes, and KPIs to drive growth across the business. Lead, mentor, and develop the existing team, cultivating a high-performance, process-driven culture. Collaborate across departments to improve operational efficiency. Partner with Senior Leadership on strategic projects such as new market entry, acquisitions, operational integration, and business transformation. Optimise supplier management, contracting, and partnership strategies to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery across all regions. Monitor, analyse, and report on operational performance; deliver efficiency, quality, and margin improvement organisation-wide. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, safety standards, and best practices across all jurisdictions and functional areas. Prepare the operations function for scale, future-proofing processes to support turnover beyond 10m and enabling further diversification.

Requirements

Significant experience as a Head of Operations, Operations Director, or senior manager within an events, exhibitions or service-based company with revenues exceeding 10m. Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-market operations including international logistics, team leadership, and budget oversight. Track record of designing and improving company-wide systems and driving operational excellence at scale. Exceptional leadership, motivational, and communication abilities for managing diverse, cross-cultural teams and stakeholders. Experience scaling operations in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments. Strong commercial acumen and a data-driven approach to improving financial and operational performance. Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment. Willingness and ability to travel internationally as necessary.

Career Progression

This position is structured to offer potential progression to Chief Operating Officer as Cosmonauts continues on its growth and diversification journey. High-impact leadership and operational success in the role will be recognised with advancement opportunities within the executive team.
