Are you an experienced operations leader with a background in building services engineering? We are seeking a dynamic Head of Operations to oversee daily activities across our mechanical and electrical reactive maintenance teams. You'll drive performance against KPIs, SLAs, and budget targets, support mobilisation and resourcing for new sites, and work closely with Contract Managers and Supervisors to ensure health & safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations across mechanical and electrical reactive maintenance teams
Drive performance against KPIs, SLAs, and budget targets
Support mobilisation, staffing, and resourcing across new sites
Ensure H&S and compliance in collaboration with Contract Managers and Supervisors
Lead client meetings and build strong working relationships
Report on operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
Drive revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding existing client relationships.
Skills & Certifications:
Commercial gas qualifications
IOSH / NEBOSH certification
Project or contract mobilisation experience
Background in building services engineering
Preferred experience & background:
Proven experience in operations management within a technical or engineering environment
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
Excellent communication and client facing skills
Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering growth and operational improvements
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Big Change) and reactive job procedures
Experience managing M&E maintenance contracts
Understanding of mechanical systems and reactive workflows
Commercially astute with budgeting and forecasting skills
Ability to price repairs, projects, and plant rooms from photographs, engineer reports, and tenders
