About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead all operational activity across Carrier Landscapes. This is a key senior leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, performance, and profitability. You will ensure smooth delivery across all live sites, optimise labour and resources, and support long-term operational improvement.

This role requires a proactive, visible leader who builds strong relationships and ensures high performance across multiple operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead delivery performance across all operational departments Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards are consistently achieved Oversee planning of labour, fleet, equipment and stock Monitor financial performance including labour, costs, margins and cash control Lead operational strategy aligned to company business plans Drive improvements to operational systems, processes, planning and reporting Build and maintain strong client relationships, resolving escalations Manage Site Managers, Contract Managers and operational leadership to ensure accountability Support workload forecasting, operational budgeting, and resource plans Conduct regular site visits to monitor standards, coach teams, and ensure delivery excellence Lead performance management, succession planning and skills development

Skills and Experience

Strong operations leadership experience within landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, civil engineering or a related field Proven ability to manage multiple teams, sites and contracts Commercially aware, confident managing budgets and financial performance Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making abilities Able to implement structured processes and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

10+ years in an operational leadership role (landscaping or construction preferred) Full UK driving licence SSSTS or SMSTS (or willingness to obtain) CSCS Manager/Professionals card (or willingness to obtain) Computer literacy in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel NVQ Level 3 in Horticulture/Landscaping and/or Business Management qualification (desirable)
