Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Head of Operations to lead a high performing and vibrant team with a performance mindset. Responsible for the Leadership of the Operational Team responsible for delivering Safe, Customer Focused, Compliant, Quality, Cost Controlled Projects, impacting around 600 family homes each week, to the developed Programme ensuring delivery of the contractual targets (Programme Volume of Mains Abandoned, Customer and Commercial Unit Rate).


This role will be hybrid with 3 days a week on site (Peterborough/Hitchin and Marks Tey)

HSE - Acting as a leader and role model within HSE&Q, setting and driving standards, providing consequences, ensuring through investigation of incidents and that learning is embedded. Working with the HSEQ teams to drive improvements. Client - Fostering excellent working relationships and communication with our client Cadent, listening and understanding their requirements and delivering against them. Always acting with integrity and authenticity. LDP's - fostering excellent working relationships with our supply chain, consideration the impact of decisions on the supply chain to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes, setting and maintaining expected standards for all areas, driving performance improvements. Customer - working with the Customer team to implement core process, respond to reactive communications from customers and support proactive communications, resolve disputes and drive to improve standards of customer performance Commercial Controls - working with the Commercial team to ensure Operational decision making is in the best interest of Unit Rate, minimise change through robust planning, manage programme delivery to optimise commercial outcomes and monitor KPI performance to maximise return to Costain Programme - work with the programme team to ensure that PCD targets are met and that mandatory mains are completed within timescales. Ensure the implementation of our planning and programme processes and control in week jeopardy to reduce change. Act as a Leader and role model within the contract demonstrating behaviours of + Health and Safety being our absolute priority
+ Ensuring programme controls are implemented to deliver great customer outcomes, the right PCD volumes and the best unit rate
+ Foster team spirit and close working relationships across the contract
+ Articulate a completing vision and strategy
+ Maintain regular quality communications within the Operations team
+ Look after the team, ensuring they are challenged and stretched but cared for as people
+ Remove silo's and foster a understanding of one another's issues and challenges


Leadership of Utility Frameworks (Water, Power or Gas) Ability to lead a high performing team, collaborative mindset and clear standard setting, a good sense of humour Track record of collaborative working with client Commercial acumen and a understanding of the NEC environment Experience of managing a complex programme of works Great communication skills both interpersonal, in team and in presentation SMSTS SHEA Passport
Desirable:


Wider construction management experience Understanding of risk management Experience of working within a wide range of stakeholders including HA's and their permitting and compliance requirements Detailed NEC experience
