Head of Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and highly capable Head of Operations to lead our end-to-end operational functions across warehouse, production, logistics, sales support and customer experience.
This role is critical to ensuring Ultra LEDs scales operationally as the business grows, with excellence in service, cost control and customer experience.

The ideal candidate will bring proven operational leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics or distribution, with a track record of improving performance, driving efficiency and building strong teams.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Operations Leadership

Own day-to-day operational performance across warehouse, production, logistics, sales support and customer experience. Develop a high-performing operations team with clear KPIs, accountability and continuous improvement. Drive improvements in OTIF, productivity, accuracy, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Warehouse, Fulfilment & Logistics

Oversee warehouse operations and support the Warehouse Manager on process, accuracy and WMS evolution. Improve stock control, picking/packing efficiency, and delivery reliability. Manage courier relationships, supplier logistics and explore 3PL/cut-off improvements.
Production & Bespoke

Lead production teams across assembly, testing and bespoke builds. Prepare people, processes and layout for the launch of the new production facility. Improve throughput, lead time and right-first-time quality through practical, hands-on improvements.
Sales Support & Customer Contact

Lead the sales support and customer support teams to deliver fast, consistent, helpful service. Develop systems and processes to improve visibility and accountability Improve customer satisfaction through faster response, clearer communication and better processes
Systems, Risk & Cross-Functional Delivery

Lead operational elements of the ERP implementation, ensuring adoption and process alignment. Ensure high standards of health & safety, compliance and operational risk management. Work closely with Product, Commercial and Marketing to support new ranges, customer needs and growth initiatives.
About You

Proven operations leadership in manufacturing, production, logistics or ecommerce fulfilment, ideally in a scaling SME. Hands-on operator comfortable spending time on the warehouse floor, with teams, and inside processes--not a desk-only manager. Strong experience improving OTIF, stock accuracy, quality, lead times and unit cost. Demonstrable success implementing systems (ERP/WMS/production workflow tools) and embedding processes across teams. Confident people leader who can coach, develop and manage performance within warehouse, production and customer support teams. Naturally structured, organised and process-oriented, able to turn ambiguity into clear steps and routines. Strong communication skills; sets expectations, gives feedback and builds trust with teams. Pragmatic, calm and solutions-focused. Able to fix root causes, not firefight symptoms. Thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments with competing priorities.
