As our Head of People, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our culture and ensuring that every Loafer is set up for success. You'll lead our HR operations team, making sure our business is compliant, well-organised and always putting people first.


Reporting to the People Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you'll help develop and deliver our People Plan and ensure the strategy is aligned with Loaf's wider business goals.


No two days are the same here. You'll be visible across the business; partnering with teams in our shacks and offices, supporting leaders and balancing the details with the big picture. You'll champion both operational excellence and progressive practices while always keeping our people at the heart of what we do.

The Job



Lead the HR Team:

Line manage and develop our People Advisor and People Administrator and work closely with the wider People team, including Learning & Development and Office Management.

HR Operations:

Oversee core HR activities such as pay, reward, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, wellbeing, and engagement.

Policies, Process & Compliance:

Ensure all policies and guides are current and relevant. Oversee the management and reporting of health & safety standards.

Business Partnering:

Act as a strategic advisor and coach to leaders and teams across the business.

Employee Relations:

Be the lead for employee issues. Staying up-to-date with employment law and advising on implications for the business.

People Data Reporting:

Ensure all people data is accurate, accessible and that KPIs are monitored and reported monthly. Ensuring GDPR compliance.

People Strategy:

Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of our people strategy, supporting business growth and employee engagement.

We're looking for



Proven experience as an HR generalist, ideally within the retail sector. Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, agile organisation Strong EQ with the ability to lead with empathy In-depth knowledge of employment law Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail Commercially savvy, with a sound understanding of how value can be created in business Data-driven and technically proficient with HR platforms (we currently use Google Suite, Microsoft, ADP, Reach 360, Teamtailor); Experience of implementing innovative and progressive people practices. Eg. AI
