Purpose of Role:

The Head of Plant Equipment is a new and exciting role created to build upon the success of Epta's Plant and Contracting Solutions business. Reporting to the Commercial Director this individual will head up a strategically important division. As the primary technical authority and client interface for all UK refrigeration plant projects, this individual will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure that products are designed and delivered to meet application needs. Collaborating closely with peers in Systems Design they will ensure technical compliance, cost efficiency, and alignment between customer requirements, internal R&D, and production. They will provide insight and support to Epta Technica (Product Innovation and Consultancy Department), developing new approaches and technologies.

This individual will shape the direction of the Plant Equipment division through the creation and execution of the Plant Equipment strategic plan. Working in collaboration with peers they will identify areas of profitable growth within new and existing customers and markets, taking a hands-on approach to leading a team of direct and in-direct reports.

Skills & Experience:

Deep understanding of refrigeration systems design, refrigeration pack configuration and manufacturing operations.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in refrigeration/R&D/ Engineered Product Operational leadership.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Commercial Sr Management team, providing strategic direction to Epta at a local and Group level.

This is a permanent full time (37.5hrs- 5 days) hybrid role, with expectation of a presence in Epta's Bradford or Ringwood office on weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

Overseeing compressor and component selections (load, SST, noise, electrical parameters). Validating technical specification and signing off R&D feasibility checklists. Coordinating with R&D on bespoke designs, PPL releases, and factory approvals. Providing expert input to support tenders and complex customer specifications.

Client & Consultant Interface

Act as the main contact for consultants, specifiers, and key customers during the design stage. Translate customer requirements into technical deliverables. Support Commercial/Key Accounts with technical validation of quotations.

Governance & Oversight

Approve pack specifications before quote release and validate order submission to the factory. Ensure compliance with internal Epta design standards and UK regulations. Manage pack project pipeline in collaboration with Commercial and Planning teams.

We'd expect this individual to have a strong Academic grounding in Refrigeration and/or Engineering Disciplines to a minimum of Honors Degree level or be able to demonstrate strong recognized professional development to the equivalent level. Further qualifications in Business related topics are a bonus.

Pay: 80,000.00-85,000.00 per year
