We are seeking a

Head of Politics

on a part-time basis to join our Social Sciences department at Langley Senior School, Loddon.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious individual who will contribute to the development of our excellent Politics department and deliver a stimulating and well balanced academic and co-curricular programme for our pupils.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the qualities and expertise essential to lead and motivate other teaching staff; inspire and motivate the pupils and ensure opportunities for all our pupils to enjoy politics.

Skills & Experience

Hold a minimum qualification of an honour's degree, ideally with QTS Proven track record of excellent teaching in Politics A strong commitment to ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across the department Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to communicate in an imaginative and enthusiastic way An in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the specification for Politics qualifications at A Level A research-informed understanding of the current best practice in Politics teaching pedagogy Passionate about the development of own practice and that of others Ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Ability to collaboratively lead a successful department in line with the academic expectations of the school and the relevant exam boards or equivalent Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Be willing to commit to co-curricular activities that add value to the school and local community Understand and have a willingness to adapt and contribute to the needs of an independent boarding school
