Head Of Print Marketing

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

About the Role
We're looking for a strategic, collaborative and commercially minded Head of Print Marketing to lead our Print Marketing Team and oversee all aspects of purchasing across Penguin Random House's marketing divisions. This role is offered on a permanent basis from our office in Embassy Gardens, London. We are pleased to offer this role with hybrid working, with 2 days required in the office each week.
As Head of Print Marketing, you'll be working on an exciting variety of products -- from small-scale items like pin badges, postcards, and bookmarks, to larger creative executions such as window displays, in-store fixtures, and immersive event materials. You'll also work across point of sale, book proofs and marketing materials. Every project offers the chance to combine creativity with practical production expertise, ensuring our campaigns make a lasting impression wherever readers encounter them.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of print marketing for the UK's largest publisher -- balancing creativity and innovation with cost efficiency, sustainability, and supply chain resilience. You'll bring a clear vision for best practice and inspire a talented team to deliver exceptional results across our brands. You will work across our biggest brands and authors, forming an integral part of the book campaigns - from Wimpy Kid and Bluey, to Jamie Oliver and Richard Osman.
Why Join Us
At Penguin Random House, we make books for everyone, because a book can change anyone. In this role, you'll have the chance to shape how our marketing reaches readers -- sustainably and creatively -- while working with some of the most loved brands in publishing.
We offer a supportive, flexible, and inclusive workplace, with opportunities for development and collaboration across the business.
What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement a Print Marketing strategy, ensuring systems, processes and purchasing policies are efficient, sustainable, and future-ready.
  • Lead and motivate the Print Marketing Team, supporting development, recruitment, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Act as the key point of contact for print suppliers, ensuring they meet our Ethical Supply Chain Policy and deliver excellent value and service.
  • Drive continuous improvement through supplier reviews, sustainability initiatives, and the adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing colleagues across all divisions, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities and challenges.
  • Provide regular reports and insight into spend, supplier performance, and strategic opportunities.
  • Support practical print marketing purchasing for selected PRH marketing divisions, with hands on production of products.
What you'll bring
You're an experienced professional with a deep understanding of marketing material / Point of Sale production, supply chain management, and sustainability. You combine strategic thinking with strong people leadership, able to influence and collaborate effectively across teams. You are reactive, solution focused and agile. Experience in publishing is not essential.
Essential criteria:
  • Experience with production, manufacturing or creating/designing point of sale materials.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a track record of managing budgets and supplier relationships.
  • Team leadership experience, guiding with confidence, empathy, and purpose.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and a keen eye for innovation - both in new product and improving the existing range (including sourcing new products and improving the sustainability of current products).
  • A passion for continuous process improvement.
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving change.
