THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead the procurement and contracting strategy for a portfolio of UK battery energy storage projects.
Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Contracts - Network Infrastructure this role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process from early-stage, pre-investment decisions through to construction completion. You will source and negotiate best-in-class construction supply chain contracts, owning and managing the commercial positions.
As a key member of the Procurement and Contracts team, you will work closely with project delivery teams to define appropriate levels of quantity surveying support and ensure contractors meet contractual obligations and delivery targets.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
Ensure project supply chain contracts are negotiated and contracted in line with timelines and project drivers around capex efficiency
Member of the procurement and contracts leadership team - Network Infrastructure
Work hand in hand with delivery to ensure all contractors across the delivery portfolio meet contractual performance obligations and delivery targets
Leading the project procurement resources and post contract signature quantity surveying / contract management resources
Leadership in mitigating commercial risk on construction projects
Providing senior level representation for Zenobe on claims or supplier contractual issues
Responsible for leading on escalated level commercial and contract management of Zenob?'s live BESS construction projects
Lead, manage and resolve commercial tasks - including commercial strategy, drafting of formal correspondence, variations, claims, commercial risk management (opportunities/threats), project accounts & payments
Develop and maintain good business relationships with new and existing contractors and both internal/external stakeholders
Line management responsibilities, quantity surveyors and contracts managers (supplier side)
Support central procurement initiatives as required and feeding in lessons learned from the construction phase into upcoming development projects
Attend construction site(s) as required

10 Years' + experience in procurement Commercial/Contracts management with relevant qualifications (e.g BSc QS, RICS) preferred
Experience in driving project programmes and procurement
The preferred candidate will hold relevant experience in the construction of battery energy storage system and/or other renewables/generation assets
Project experience on a multi-contracting basis
Experience with FIDIC and other bespoke/complex forms of contract
Experienced in providing commercial leadership on complex projects
Experienced in claim management strategy/execution and settlement agreements
A genuine passion for renewable energy
Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc)
