Job Purpose
The Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and delivering the organisation's procurement strategy across subcontracted services and materials. This role will drive value, compliance, and innovation across the supply chain, ensuring procurement activities align with the company's operational, financial, and sustainability goals
Key Duties
Develop and implement a group-wide procurement strategy across direct and indirect spend categories
Lead and mentor the Procurement Team to deliver strategic sourcing and category management
Oversee procurement risk, cost control, and contract governance
Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and partners to drive long-term value
Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements
Drive digitalisation and efficiency in procurement systems and processes
Monitor supplier performance and ensure continuous improvement across the supply chain
Build and manage processes within the team that fit with the wider business and develop a knowledge base for continuous improvement
Directly manage and oversee procurement managers to provide first class internal procurement service to all other departments and stakeholders
Take part in senior leadership meetings and reviews to help deliver the company business plan and strategic milestones.
Skills/Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role within a construction or related industry
Strong background in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier performance
Demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex supplier relationships
In-depth knowledge of procurement law and contract negotiation
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience Required
MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification (essential)
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (desirable)
