Head of Procurement - Circa 100K Package



Our client is a leading HVAC / electronics organisation with a fantastic workplace environment. Due to significant business growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Head of Procurement in the Milton Keynes / Northampton area.

You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring robust supplier relationships, cost efficiency, stock availability, and strategic alignment with the company's growth plans. Key to this role will be utilising digitisation and procurement technology to drive efficiency, transparency, and competitive advantage. You will help to establish and expand supplier-led fulfilment models, including drop ship arrangements to support availability and service levels across a HVAC product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement the company's procurement strategy aligned with business goals and market demands. Establish drop ship supplier models to increase fulfilment efficiency and reduce stock-holding costs. Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing procurement team across multiple sites and assess the potential of a category management approach and practice. (some fully expensed UK travel required) Build and maintain strong relationships with key global HVAC manufacturers, OEMs, and logistics partners. Manage the sourcing of technical products across key categories (AC units, fixings, tools, ventilation, refrigerants and electrical) and collaborate with operations and sales to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability Champion the use of procurement digitisation, including e-procurement platforms, analytics dashboards, and automated workflows.

Experience



Essential Skills & Experience:

Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in HVAC or a related industry such as building services, technical wholesale, electronics, parts/components supply and a proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiation. Demonstrated experience leading or participating in procurement digitisation initiatives and experience establishing drop ship supplier relationships or supplier-led fulfilment models Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop procurement teams and Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills. Demonstrated experience establishing drop ship supplier relationships or supplier-led fulfilment models and familiarity with global sourcing, import processes, and international supplier engagement. Strong analytical ability and experience using ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and works effectively with sales, operations, finance, and technical teams to balance commercial and customer priorities. Track record of developing international supply chains, particularly sourcing from Europe and Asia.

Desirable

- A degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related discipline and professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM, CPSM or equivalent. Experienced in implementing or managing digital procurement platforms or data visualisation tools and exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 75,000.00-80,000.00 per year
