Location: Peterborough - Hybrid Working 2-3 days in office weekly with at least 1 day presence required in London hub office.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Procurement to join the leadership team of the Strategic Resource Option (SRO) Programme--a multi-billion-pound initiative to deliver two nationally significant raw water reservoirs in the East of England.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the procurement and supply chain strategy for one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the UK water sector.
As Head of Procurement, you will:Lead the development and execution of the procurement and supply chain strategy across all workstreams--from design and planning to construction and investment Manage a team of 15-20 procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture Ensure compliance with procurement legislation, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals Engage with senior stakeholders, regulators, and supply chain partners to drive value, innovation, and market confidence Align procurement activities with the programme's commercial strategy and delivery milestones
What does it take to be successful?We're looking for someone with a strategic mindset and visionary Extensive experience leading procurement and supply chain teams in major infrastructure or capital delivery programmes Deep knowledge of procurement legislation (eg Procurement Act 2023) and best practices Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver strategic outcomes. A professional procurement qualification and experience in regulated sectors (e.g., utilities, water, infrastructure) Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
