About this role:





This role is responsible for advancing the organisation by designing, developing, and managing strategic initiatives in secondary care to ensure quality and value for members. It involves overseeing provider performance to improve utilisation and engagement, engaging internal stakeholders to understand business needs, and implementing beneficial outcomes. Collaboration with providers on administrative, clinical, and service aspects is essential, with a focus on innovative evaluation methods.



The ideal candidate will have significant experience in project design, procurement, and delivery within private healthcare or insurance, with a deep understanding of the PMI market and its difficulties. A proactive approach is essential, balancing the needs of senior management while managing upwards to ensure informed decision-making. Effective communication skills are crucial, as the role involves sharing information at all organisational levels. The candidate should be comfortable using data to drive conclusions and communicate insights, and be literate in contractual terminology, working with legal teams to develop innovative agreements.



Dependable for a multi-level/experience team, the role requires flexibility in management style to inspire employees at all levels. The candidate must be comfortable fronting and executing in a fast-paced environment, consistently delivering exceptional results. Regular travel, typically on a fortnightly basis, will be required between UK office locations and hospital sites.


Key actions:




Lead strategic projects to improve member outcomes and inform provider strategy Manage strategic development from design to implementation and maintenance when projects move to BAU Innovate internal processes and technology to meet customer needs Drive business delivery by setting strategy and objectives for direct reports, overseeing performance, and communicating outcomes to stakeholders. Drive innovation and performance by collaborating with trusted third parties to meet business needs and support strategic goals Develop procurement and contractual documentation with legal and clinical teams to meet business and member needs, ensuring quality and commercial outcomes Oversee performance and strategy, collaborating with provider colleagues to address issues using technological and engagement methods. Engage healthcare facilities, consultant bodies, and industry influencers to maintain relations, drive supplier performance, and collaborate on projects to improve member experiences and manage costs. Provide data-driven insights to all business levels, ensuring they meet stakeholder needs and are used to engage providers and internal teams for better outcomes. Develop tools and models for colleague teams to drive improvements. Collaborate with clinical and healthcare management functions and other internal stakeholders on projects and developments. Partner with clinical policy teams to review initiative performance and drive clinical engagement. Deputise for the Provider Management Director and CCD as needed.

What do you need to thrive?




Previous experience (>2 years) of strategic management at a senior level. Experience of procurement and contractual development. within a PMI/Healthcare environment. Previous experience of leading functions from both a people and strategy perspective. Track record of leading successful change initiatives/projects/programmes. The ability to interpret and present complex data. The ability to successfully present ideas and initiatives to others using a variety of tools and methods. Experience in engaging with and influencing internal and external organisations at all levels.
