HEAD OF QUALITY & COMPLIANCE - 60K PER ANNUM + 5K CAR ALLOWANCE!

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality & Compliance on behalf of our client - a leading modular construction specialist who have multiple sites across the UK. This role will be based at their Wakefield site however can be flexible in terms of working from other facilities with the ability to commute to all when required.

The Head of Quality & Compliance is responsible for the strategic development, leadership, and oversight of the Quality and Compliance framework across all four manufacturing sites. The role ensures that products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, legal compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position plays a key part in embedding a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with industry and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities as Head of Quality & Compliance:

Quality Management:

Develop and lead the company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards and sector best practice. Oversee internal and external audits across all sites and drive continuous improvement. Ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements from design through to installation. Analyse quality data and trends to proactively address areas of risk and non-conformance. Lead the NCR and root cause analysis processes, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Manage quality control teams, implementing standardised procedures and inspection plans.

Compliance & Governance:

Ensure the business remains compliant with all relevant UK legislation and industry standards including NHBC, BOPAS, LABC, and UKCA/CE marking. Lead on the management and reporting of factory and product compliance to Group and external bodies. Develop and implement internal compliance policies and training to ensure alignment across all levels of the business. Act as the principal liaison with external accreditation bodies, customers, and regulatory authorities.

Leadership & Strategy:

Drive a culture of quality and compliance across all levels of the organisation, from factory floor to senior management. Lead, coach and develop quality and compliance teams across all four sites. Design and build a scalable Quality & Compliance team structure that provides dedicated support across each operational area of the business. Work collaboratively with Production, Design, Commercial and H&S to align quality targets with business objectives. Support client-facing teams during project handovers, audits and assurance processes.

Requirements as Head of Quality & Compliance:

Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or similar). Knowledge of ISO 14001 / 45001, BOPAS or NHBC Accepts schemes. Construction or engineering background preferred. Proven experience in a senior quality/compliance role within modular/offsite construction or related manufacturing sector. Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, manufacturing standards, and modular construction certification schemes. Experience managing ISO 9001 QMS and compliance audits. Strong leadership and team management experience across multi-site operations. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel between sites as required.
