Summary
We are seeking a Head of Quality to lead our quality assurance initiatives, ensuring excellence in our educational programs and compliance with funding requirements. The Quality Manager will lead, manage, and develop the quality assurance and improvement framework across Nottinghamshire Training Group's three delivery sites. The postholder will ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and learner experience across all 16-19 provision and apprenticeship programmes. The role will drive continuous improvement through robust data analysis, effective performance monitoring, and proactive quality interventions, contributing directly to retention, attendance, achievement, and progression outcomes. We are seeking an individual that makes to make a clear impact and bring their skills and knowledge to make an impact to the role. The successful candidate will be given the flexibility and licence to shape the role and introduce new stratagies and initiatives within the organisation that they believe can have the most positive impact.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Improvement
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of NTG's
Quality Strategy
, ensuring compliance with ESFA, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF), and awarding body requirements.
Teaching, Learning & Assessment
Lead and coordinate the
observation of teaching, learning, assessment, and key operational processes
, ensuring feedback is developmental, supportive, and aligned to NTG standards.
Develop coaching and improvement plans for tutors and assessors where required.
Ensure the consistent and effective implementation of schemes of work, individualised learning plans, behaviour and attitudes expectations, and assessment practices.
Curriculum & Programme Oversight
Oversee the quality of all NTG curriculum areas (Hair, Barbering, Beauty, Early Years, TA, Business Admin, Functional Skills).
Monitor programme performance across all 3 delivery sites and work closely with Centre Managers and Curriculum Leads to support effective delivery.
Ensure the curriculum offer remains current, ambitious, employer-responsive, and compliant with funding and qualification framework rules.
Data & Reporting
Produce regular quality dashboards and reports for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and board-level meetings.
Lead monthly
Quality & Performance Meetings
, ensuring accountability, action tracking, and cross-centre consistency.
Monitor individual staff and programme KPIs to support early intervention.
Learner Experience & Compliance
Drive improvements in behaviour and attitudes, learner voice, safeguarding alignment, and the overall learner journey from onboarding to progression.
Ensure NTG remains fully compliant with funding guidance, Ofsted requirements, and awarding body/ EPAO assessment standards.
Support internal quality assurance (IQA) processes and awarding body external quality assurance visits.
Operational Quality Activities
Conduct quality audits on processes such as attendance monitoring, onboarding, ILPs, progress reviews, employer engagement, apprenticeships tracking, and destination recording.
Contribute to policy development, risk management, and the implementation of organisational improvement initiatives.
Support staff training, CPD programmes, and best practice sharing across all centres.
Produce and maintain the annual
Self Assessment Report (SAR)
and
Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
, ensuring clear actions, measurable impacts, and regular reviews.
Analyse performance data (achievement, retention, attendance, progress, observations, learner voice) to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
