UCLH are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the Trust as Head of Radiotherapy Physics. Cancer is a strategic priority for UCLH, and we deliver world class cancer care to patients from across the country, across multiple sites and departments within the Trust, including the UCH Grafton Way Building, which houses one of two national Proton Beam Therapy services.
This is a highly specialised and essential leadership role within the Cancer Division at UCLH and we are looking for a candidate who can provide professional, scientific and engineering management to the Radiotherapy and PBT Departments and to liaise with clinicians, managers and external bodies.
The department delivers radiotherapy and PBT services for a broad spectrum of cancers comprising of common cancers as well as highly specialist treatments. These include a paediatric and adolescent workload, brachytherapy and isotope work, total body irradiation and sarcoma, neurological and head and neck radiotherapy. The department is delivering SABR treatment, as well as being designated as the main centre in the south for cranial SRS. There are also close relationships with the academic department in nuclear medicine and the academic department of oncology, which has a major research interest in targeted molecular radiotherapy.
