We are a leading electrical contracting company based in Haverhill, Suffolk. We specialise in a wide range of electrical services and are expanding into the renewable energy sector. With existing clients expressing interest in battery storage solutions, EV car charging systems and solar energy, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead this new division of our business.

Job Summary:

The Head of Renewables/Operations will be responsible for driving the growth of our renewable energy division, focusing on battery storage solutions, EV car charging infrastructure, and solar panel installations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and proven sales experience. You will lead business development, conduct site surveys, oversee installation planning, and collaborate with our existing team to deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop the renewable energy division, expanding the company's service offering in battery storage, EV charging systems and solar panels. Experience managing MCS accreditation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality assurance for renewable energy installations. Conduct detailed site surveys for potential battery storage, EV charging systems and solar panels installations across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Work closely with the in-house sales and marketing manager to promote renewable energy services, support business development efforts, and drive revenue growth. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, leveraging existing contacts and generating new leads. Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements for battery storage, EV charging systems and solar panel solutions. Oversee and ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices during site surveys and installations. Support the team in bid proposals, contract negotiations, and other client-facing responsibilities as needed. Travel to various sites across London and the East of England to conduct surveys and attend meetings with clients.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on battery storage solutions, EV car charging and solar panel installations infrastructure. Appropriate technical knowledge and experience in conducting site surveys and interpreting technical documentation such as architectural drawings and electrical schematics. Sales experience, with a proven ability to close deals and grow revenue within the renewable energy sector. Relevant qualifications in renewable energy (e.g., battery storage, EV charger and solar PV certifications), 18th edition, 2391, 2nd Amendment, ECS Card plus relevant renewable energy software. A practical, working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

Skills and Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Ability to work independently and proactively, managing multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision. Valid UK driver's license, as the role will require travel to various client locations.

Desirable:

Strong knowledge of the renewable energy industry trends, government incentives, and regulatory landscape. Experience in a leadership role, managing teams or leading projects within the renewable energy or electrical contracting industry.

Location:

The role will be based in our Haverhill, Suffolk office, with regular travel to sites for surveys and client meetings.
