About this opportunity



This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead, build and motivate a team of c.60 finance professionals in the Retail & Insurance Financial Control and Reporting Team, partnering with Retail and Insurance Finance to deliver a robust control environment which gives confidence in reporting to your stakeholders.




You'll join us in Group Finance Support (part of GFS), a key function within the Finance community of LBG. We're a team of c.300 colleagues, with responsibilities including financial reporting and control, people and culture initiatives and strategy implementation.




The team are in the middle of a significant Transformation journey and you will be part of influencing, designing and implementing Finance Transformation over the next few years, both within Group Finance Support and beyond!


Day to day, you will:



Drive and positively influence key internal and external partners including Divisional Finance Directors, Risk Partners and our external auditors Provide challenge, insight and decision support to the Retail and Insurance Finance teams to improve business controls and performance Responsible for ensuring robust risk management processes, including SOX and Risk OpenPages, are embedded within the team, and provide a 'no-surprises', high quality Financial Control environment Own and be accountable in driving resolution of issues at pace, collaborating effectively across teams to get the best solution for LBG Lead the team to support Transformation, including leading and influencing the design and delivery into the key areas of activity Build, lead and develop a successful professional, resilient and driven Finance team. Drive an environment of continuous improvement, in particular through data improvement and use of automation and AI tools As a key member of the Leadership team, drive the cultural change to ensure that the team is well placed to deliver for now and for the future

What you'll need:



Experienced leader with drive, energy and a growth mindset, who leads by example and has experience of leading a large team Qualified finance professional with significant post qualification experience in control and management and statutory reporting Strong Risk and Control understanding, including LBG Risk OpenPages and SOX framework; with an awareness of the key risks facing LBG Finance Excellent communicator, able to influence and articulate complex issues at all levels across LBG, building strong diverse working relationships across different parts of the Group. Strategic thinker, with a passion for creating and driving future transformation and continuous improvement within Finance. Attract, inspire and lead a successful, diverse professional and high performing team actively managing performance to realise potential and retain talent. Qualified finance professional with significant post qualification experience in control and management and statutory reporting Strong Risk and Control understanding, including LBG RSCA and SOX framework; with an awareness of the key risks facing LBG Finance
