What we need in a nutshell:
The Head of Facilities & Risk will build and lead the health, safety and park services plan across 27 locations, ensuring the safety of our guests and team members. Working with our Central Support functions and park leadership teams to ensure all activities are legally compliant, cost-effective, and delivered to the highest standards, embedding a culture of safety, responsibility, and continuous improvement. You would be an influential communicator who is commercially astute, pragmatic and hands on - understanding operational challenges on parks and can tailor initiatives. You remain calm and decisive under pressure and are a values driven leader.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage the ongoing Health & Safety plan to include policies, and frameworks
• Ensure consistent standards and levels of compliance across all 27 parks through effective leadership and governance
• Centrally manage group level maintenance and facilities contracts, ensuring that spend is actively managed and optimised
• Ensure risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations are carried out to a high standard, with timely close-out of actions
• Collaborate with Central Operations & Programmes Director and to devise annual planned maintenance programmes, ensuring spend is appropriately managed
• Own and continue to develop our incident reporting

• Build a culture of on-going learning, where health and safety compliance is considered a hygiene factor
• Manage budgets for H&S and group level facilities and maintenance ensuring spend is appropriately utilised
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maximising ROI
• Delivery of all project work in line or below the allocated budgets
• Champion the safety of guests and colleagues through proactive risk management
• Ensure compliance with HASAWA, RIDDOR, fire safety, water safety, food safety, and construction safety
• Promote and embed a positive safety culture across all parks
• Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and closure of all incidents, near misses, and identified risks
• Implement and maintain robust Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training to keep colleagues and guests safe
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Regional H&S Managers.
• Promote safety and compliance awareness across all levels of the business
• Collaborate with General Managers, Operations, and Development to embed safety and estates best practice
• Set clear realistic priorities and regularly communicate and evaluate these with the team
• Regularly communicate with team members individually ensuring that objectives are clear while encouraging team retention

Skills, experience and qualities you'll need:

• Multi-site Operational Leadership in a matrixed environment

• People Leadership
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent with CMIOSH membership
• Facilities/Property Accreditation: IWFM or similar - desirable
• Project Delivery
• Incident Reporting Systems
