About the role
The Head of Sales - Events and Hires will lead the sales function of the team to maximise commercial income opportunities for The Glasshouse across corporate, private, third sector and association sector conferences and events.
You'll work hand-in-hand with the Head of Operations - Events & Hires and the Glasshouse Enterprises Managing Director to keep things running smoothly across the board - and make sure the way we plan, pitch and deliver events is as strong and seamless as it can be.
It would be great if you had experience in:
Extensive experience in events sales, to include a management/senior capacity
Proven operational delivery experience
Proven track record in achieving/exceeding sales targets
Strong sales and marketing background with evidence of running marketing initiatives

You'll be responsible for:
Lead on and deliver the sales and marketing activity in the Events & Hires team
Deliver the sales and marketing strategy working closely with GE Managing Director
Respond to all event enquiries in an appropriate and timely manner, with support from the Head of Operations
Work with the Head of Operations to assist with operational event delivery where required
Maintain an acute commercial awareness of Glasshouse Enterprises business model
Maintain a highly-developed knowledge of the MICE industry including up to date trends
Responsible for overall CRM management
Drive the team to achieve set sales targets
Produce high quality and regular quantitative reports including, but not limited to;
Sales forecasts
Quarterly sales data
Ensure that all invoicing and contracting is completed in accordance with set guidelines and timeframes
Work with all colleagues to deliver secondary spend on event hires. Lead on this strategy for the events & hires team
Actively identify sales opportunities, and compile high-quality bespoke proposals and quotes
Be the lead contact for external partners and stakeholders including but not limited to NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau and Visit Britain
Represent The Glasshouse at external events, trade shows, networking and meetings (regionally, nationally and internationally as required)
Represent the events & hires function at internal events and meetings, including Senior Management Team meetings
Manage team protocols and processes to ensure the best Glasshouse experience for clients and delegates
Consistently work within all of Glasshouse's operational deadlines and protocols
Budget holder for Event & Hires spend and marketing activity
Hold regular cross-departmental meetings with relevant colleagues to ensure efficient operational event activity within The Glasshouse
Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive sales targets system and sales focussed culture that includes the preparation of effective sales reports and management information on a regular basis.
Always adhere to health and safety guidelines
Work with wider colleagues in the Sales & Customer Service Team and across the organisation as needed to achieve The Glasshouse's priorities
Deputise for the Head of Operations where needed
Actively role model The Glasshouse's values
Undertaking any other relevant duties as may be requested by the Glasshouse Enterprises Managing Director
Motivation of a highly skilled Events & Hires team
Line managing Events & Hires Sales and Admin Coordinator, and Operations Coordinator where required
