A leading UK systems integration and automation solutions provider is seeking a
Head of Sales - Transport Infrastructure
to play a pivotal role in securing projects within the transportation sector, with a focus on Light Rail, Trams, SFRI, and Highways infrastructure.
This is a senior sales position, reporting to the Group Sales Director, with responsibility for driving profitable growth, building strong industry relationships, and positioning the business as a market leader in the transport infrastructure space.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business development activities within the Transportation Infrastructure sector
Develop and deliver a "Go To Market" strategy to secure profitable projects
Identify and pursue opportunities in Light Rail, Trams, SFRI, Highways, and complementary subsectors
Utilise existing project references and market knowledge to generate new business
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
Act as a thought leader, representing the business at industry events, tradeshows, and networking opportunities
Manage and maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM updates
Review commercial, technical, and operational bids
Support the Sales Applications team with proposals, technical specifications, and value propositions
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to maintain competitive advantage
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and uphold the company's reputation as a leading solutions provider
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior sales role within the Transportation Infrastructure sector
Proven track record in selling technical or systems integration solutions (Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, SCADA/HMI, Simulation, Battery/Hybrid systems, Power management solutions)
Strong commercial awareness and bid management experience
Established senior-level customer contacts in the transport sector
Desirable:
Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
