We are seeking to appoint: Head of School Retrofit and Green STEM Skills



The College has four faculties and one division. The business services division has responsibility for the delivery of high quality apprenticeships, employer and community responsive provision. The division management team has a strategic and operational responsibility for the management and delivery of course programmes within a group of college departments. Each area will work within a remit specific to their area. The remit will outline the key focus areas for each faculty and will be subject to review by the College to reflect the goals, aims and strategic objectives and priorities within FE and the College


Aims of Job/ Job Purpose:



To ensure that learners develop their skills and knowledge to succeed and progress into further study or employment. You will do this by:

Ensuring that learners are on appropriate course leading to progression

Liaise with employers where needed to update on learner progress and deal with any issues that may arise

Keep updated with funding and delivery rules and ensure the team are aware of these

Develop new provision responsive to meet industry requirements in the retrofit/green skills in STEM

To attend and liaise various external events with employers and other key stakeholders to keep updated on industry changes and feed this back into own and wider college provision

That an appropriate programme of study is provided to all learners to meet their educational and personal needs and that learners receive realistic, achievable targets to aid progression

Ensuring that within your team an ethos of positive behaviour and encouragement in commonly enjoyed

Ensuring that your staff understand and practice their responsibilities in regard to safeguarding
