The role in short



We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Head of SEO to lead our organic growth efforts across technical SEO, content strategy, and link acquisition. This role is integral to enhancing Plumbworld's online visibility and driving sustained revenue growth through organic channels.

You will lead a small and growing SEO team, currently focused on outreach and link building, and report directly to the Digital Marketing Director. This is a hybrid role, requiring regular collaboration at our Evesham office.

Key Responsibilities



Define and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy, covering on-page, off-page, and technical pillars. Manage and develop the in-house SEO team with a current focus on link acquisition. Conduct regular site audits and lead technical SEO improvements in collaboration with the development team. Build and manage scalable content strategies aligned with commercial goals and keyword targeting. Oversee and expand white-hat link building campaigns to improve domain authority and search engine rankings. Monitor and report on SEO KPIs, especially those related to traffic, visibility, and organic revenue performance. Stay abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry developments. Collaborate closely with content, digital marketing, UX, and product teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded across the organisation.

Requirements



Proven experience in a senior SEO position, ideally within ecommerce or digital retail. Demonstrable track record of delivering measurable organic revenue growth. Strong knowledge of SEO best practices across technical, on-site, content, and outreach. Experienced in managing or mentoring a small team, with a view to growth and development. Comfortable interpreting SEO analytics and converting insights into actionable strategy. Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Preferred Qualifications



Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Familiarity with industry-standard SEO tools and platforms (e.g. GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs - although not mandatory). Experience aligning SEO efforts with broader digital and commercial strategy. An analytical mindset with a commercial focus on return on investment and lifetime value.
