, to lead our strategy and team during this period.

Role Overview:

As the

Head of SEO and Content (Maternity Cover)

, you will be responsible for developing and leading our SEO strategy, ensuring we rank highly on search engines, and creating compelling content that supports our business goals. You'll manage a team of content creators and work closely with other departments to align our content and SEO efforts with the company's objectives. You should have at least 5 years of experience and will report to the Director of Marketing.

The role is based out of our York office. One day per week is office-based, with the remaining days remote.

Key Responsibilities:

SEO Strategy:

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive SEO strategy to improve search engine rankings and increase organic traffic.

Content Creation & Strategy:

Oversee content planning, creation, and optimisation to ensure it meets SEO best practices and resonates with our target audience.

Team Leadership:

Manage and guide the SEO and content team, ensuring high-quality work, effective collaboration, and continuous professional development.

Analytics & Reporting:

Monitor, analyse, and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMRush, and other SEO software. Use data to refine strategies and improve results.

Collaboration:

Work with marketing, design, and development teams to ensure content is aligned with the broader business strategy.

Technical SEO:

Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and best practices, ensuring our clients' websites and content are optimised for search engines.

Content Optimisation:

Continuously review and optimise existing content for SEO, ensuring it stays relevant and effective.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience in SEO and content management, with a strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors. Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team. Proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative content strategies. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Knowledge of HTML and website management (basic understanding) is a plus.
