The Head of Solution Architecture plays a critical role in ensuring the continuity of architecture and alignment with our Banners' technology direction to hold the customer at the heart of everything we do. You'll establish and embed architectural standards and tooling, ensuring consistency and quality in solution design and documentation.
What's the job?:
Define and promote the value of Solution Architecture, leading communication and education efforts to embed its purpose, principles, and impact across the organisation. Establish and embed architectural standards and tooling, ensuring consistency and quality in solution design and documentation. Drive agile and effective decision-making, aligning solution architecture with business and technology strategy to enable fast, informed choices. Lead and contribute to governance forums, such as design councils and architecture boards, promoting best practices, consistency, and architectural integrity across initiatives. Build and develop a high-performing Solution Architecture team, recruiting critical skills, creating career paths, and fostering collaboration and business impact. Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration, working closely with teams across Engineering, Delivery, Infrastructure, Platform and Product to deliver customer-centric solutions. Provide strategic and technical leadership, crafting end-to-end solution designs and finding opportunities to evolve technology capabilities and architecture maturity.

What you'll bring:
Extensive Solution Architecture expertise - experience leading complex solution design across multiple domains, with strong knowledge of architecture principles, patterns, and tooling. Proven leadership and team development - ability to build, mentor and grow high-performing architecture teams aligned to business needs and strategic priorities. Excels in aligning architecture with operating models, goals, and achievements in business and technology functions. Governance and decision-making experience - confident contributing to design councils and architecture forums to ensure consistent, high-quality solutions. Collaborative and influential - able to engage and influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across engineering, delivery, and platform teams to drive value.
