Head of Solution Engineering and Consultancy

Location: Hybrid - Home based/ London/Newark

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Digital Space, a leader in digital transformation and managed services, is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Solution Engineering and Consultancy to lead our end-to-end Solution Architecture function. This is an exciting opportunity to merge technical leadership with strategic presales, taking ownership of architectural governance, technical design, and the creation of value-driven, scalable solutions for our customers11.

As the Head of Solution Engineering and Consultancy, you will be a key player in shaping the company's future by:

Leading a team:

You will manage a team of up to 10 Presales Architects and Consultants, acting as a subject matter expert on major network and security bids. Your responsibilities will include driving capability growth, career development, and performance management.

Driving strategy:

You will provide strategic direction for all solution architecture domains, including networks, cloud, security, and UC/CCaaS. You'll also be accountable for technical innovation and the solution design lifecycle for customer engagements.

Owning the technical vision:

You'll act as the lead architect for strategic bids, building customer confidence through technical and strategic leadership. You will lead presales solution engagements across all lines of business, from Secure Networks to Cybersecurity.

Shaping the future:

You will collaborate with portfolio teams to shape cloud transformation propositions, help define reference architectures, and provide input into the product roadmap

We're looking for someone with:

Experience

in a Technical Pre-Sales Architect role, ideally within a mid-market Managed Services environment. You should have a proven track record in team leadership and technical management, with strong customer-facing skills and the ability to build trust-based relationships.

Technical Expertise:

Demonstrable knowledge of Fortinet and Cisco technologies, as well as advanced knowledge of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Voice technologies. You should also have knowledge of cloud technologies and experience with virtual CISO, SOC/SIEM design teams.

Certifications:

While not all are required, certifications such as TOGAF, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or Fortinet NSE/FCSS are highly advantageous.

Soft Skills:

A self-motivated, responsible, and accountable attitude is essential. We need someone who is comfortable presenting to a hight level audiences, has excellent communication skills, and is a creative, flexible, and energetic problem-solver. You must also be able to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
