The Role:



We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and strategic Head of Sports Coaching & Operations to lead our coaching team and manage the day-to-day operational delivery of all our programmes. This is a senior management role that requires a blend of exceptional leadership, logistical expertise, and a passion for sports coaching.



You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all our sessions, from planning and scheduling to coach management and quality control. This is a hands-on position that requires a strategic mindset and a commitment to excellence.



Key Responsibilities:



1. Operational Management & Delivery



Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day delivery of all sports sessions, including after-school clubs, PE lessons, and holiday camps, ensuring they run smoothly and meet our high standards.



Logistics & Scheduling: Manage all day-to-day logistics and scheduling for coaching staff and sessions, ensuring optimal use of resources and seamless programme delivery.



Platform Management: Take ownership of all scheduling and booking platforms, ensuring they are accurately updated and utilised effectively for all programmes.



2. Team Leadership & Management



Coach Management: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of full-time and part-time sports coaches, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and passion.



Performance & Development: Conduct regular appraisals and performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and creating personal development plans to help each coach grow.



Recruitment & Training: Play a key role in the recruitment and onboarding of new coaching staff, and lead regular training sessions to ensure the team is up-to-date with best practices and company policies.



3. Strategic Planning & Administration



Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Take the lead in creating, implementing, and monitoring Service Level Agreements with our partner schools and clients, ensuring all promises are met and relationships are maintained.



Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits and observations to assess the quality of coaching and ensure all sessions are safe, engaging, and in line with the uSports curriculum.



Problem Resolution: Act as the main point of escalation for operational issues, using a proactive and effective approach to solve problems quickly.



Candidate Requirements:



Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sports coaching management or operational leadership role. Experience in a multi-sport or similar setting is highly desirable.



Qualifications: A recognised sports coaching qualification (NGB Level 2 or higher) and up-to-date certifications in Safeguarding and First Aid.



Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve high performance.



Operational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills with a strong attention to detail. Proficient in using various software platforms for scheduling and administration.



Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, clients, and parents.



Personal Attributes: A proactive, can-do attitude with a passion for sports and a commitment to the uSports mission. This role requires someone who is strategic, reliable, and takes immense pride in their work.



Compliance: Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential. A valid Enhanced DBS check will be required.
