The Head of Strategic & Enterprise Architecture plays a critical role in ensuring the continuity of architecture and alignment with the Banners technology direction to hold the customer at the heart of everything we do. You will be a key strategic partner in defining how Kingfisher approaches new or emerging Technology and Business opportunities, and you will work to influence and simplify the core capabilities of our business.
What's the job?:
Lead the development and maturity of the Strategic & Enterprise Architecture practice, embedding tooling, standards, and governance aligned with business strategy and enabling agile, informed decision-making.
Champion the value of Strategic Architecture across the organisation, communicating its impact on strategy, innovation, and transformation through clear reporting and business engagement.
Build, inspire and develop a high-performing team of domain architects, ensuring alignment with business goals, operating models, and the growth of critical architecture capabilities.
Act as an inspiring leader, delivering future-state architecture views and finding opportunities where technology can unlock value for our customers and support our North Star vision.
Drive innovation and experimentation, tracking emerging technologies and running pilots to integrate the most valuable into business-as-usual operations.
Collaborate across the organization, influencing senior collaborators and guiding architecture decisions through forums like design councils and governance boards.
Develop and communicate architectural roadmaps and transition plans, ensuring alignment between business ambition, technology capabilities, and investment priorities.
What you'll bring:
Experience leading and maturing a Strategic & Enterprise Architecture function within a large, complex organisation -- including establishing governance models, standards, tooling, and cross-domain architecture views.
Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes, shape future-state capabilities, and engage senior stakeholders in driving value through architecture-led decisions.
Experience building and developing high-performing architecture teams -- mentoring, recruiting, and aligning them to business and technology goals through effective operating models and career development.
A consistent track record of identifying, evaluating, and applying emerging technologies to deliver innovation, improve business performance, and shape long-term architectural direction.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across senior leadership, technology teams, and external partners to embed architecture in decision-making and transformation delivery.
