Head of Student Experience (Induction, Transition and Retention)


An exciting opportunity is available as part of our Student Services team at the University of Chester on a 12 month fixed term contract basis (maternity cover).


As the Head of Student Experience (Induction, Transition and Retention), you will take operational responsibility for the Student Experience Team. This includes the day to day management of Student Experience Projects Manager, Induction and Transition Manager, and Student Experience Coordinators. You will take the lead role in the operational, and strategic management of delivering proactive induction, transition, retention, and support services for all students, with a special focus on students who face barriers/additional challenges in Higher Education. You will play a critical role, working closely with senior academic and service leads, in ensuring the provision of an outstanding student experience across all University sites, acting as a key point of contact at the University Centres


You should have strong interpersonal and communication skills. With experience of initiating and implementing evidence-based initiatives which deliver improvements to the student experience. As well as substantial previous experience of working within student-facing support services, in a higher education or similar environment.
