Head of Support and Legal Services

Main Responsibilities

We\'re offering an exciting position as head of support and legal services. You\'ll provide first-class legal and support services to ensure residents are effectively supported, safeguarded and can undertake financial transactions. You\'ll effectively and swiftly manage legal cases relating to arrears, disrepair, and other tenancy matters to mitigate business risks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be NHG\'s legal expert, advising, representing and advocating for Notting Hill Genesis across a range of issues. Alongside this, providing a comprehensive tenancy sustainment and partnership service to ensure residents can live well, remain in their homes and get on with their lives.

Your legal expertise, comprehensive knowledge and advice will better equip staff to deal with legal cases and maximise support opportunities for residents. You work swiftly and effectively to find solutions that benefit residents and mitigate risk, and are constantly looking to adapt and evolve to support permanent improvement to our services.

Necessary experience and skills -

  • Track record of success in leadership role
  • Evidence of excellent service improvement achievements in a complex service delivery environment
  • Experience of building and managing effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Up-to-date knowledge of housing law and legislation including possession actions, disrepair, anti-social behaviour and tenancy enforcement
  • Preferably experience of related areas in civil and criminal law
  • A good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • An understanding of the association\'s statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations
  • Significant experience of evaluating, managing and resolving complex housing and legal casework
  • A good understanding of tenancy sustainment and the welfare benefits landscape
  • A good understanding of shared ownership/leasehold financial transactions including resales and staircasing
  • Evidence of commercial acumen with a track record of effectively managing financial budgets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of preparing and delivering high quality reports and presentations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, supported by personal credibility, integrity and professionalism
  • Effective IT skills
