Main purpose:
The successful candidate will lead our support teams ensuring services are person-centred, inclusive and aligned with best practices and statutory requirements.
Operational Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of domestic abuse support services, including refuge, specialist services, outreach and ISAS.
Ensure services are delivered in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and culturally competent manner.
Identify emerging needs and opportunities to enhance service delivery and expand support offerings.
People Management
Line manage service managers, and specialist staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services that meet the needs of survivors.
Foster a positive, supportive team culture with a focus on staff wellbeing, learning, and development.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:
Oversee data collection, impact measurement, and service evaluation
Seek feedback from clients and review data/information to determine how we can improve our services
Ensure all services are delivered in line with relevant legal and contractual requirements
General
Effectively manage your workload, yourself and your personal development
Contribute to the co-ordination of the work of the wider team to ensure delivery of priorities agreed with your manager.
Demonstrate total professionalism and value diversity.
Make a positive contribution to team working and communicate effectively with the commissioners, partners and colleagues
Take part in the out of hours rota.
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within domestic abuse, safeguarding, or support services.
Experience developing and delivering trauma-informed services.
Experience of working with diverse communities and delivering culturally responsive services.
Skills and Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on survivors.
Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively across sectors.
Excellent communication, influencing and report writing skills.
Strong people management and team leadership skills.
OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Car driver with access to vehicle
Subject to Enhanced DBS Check
Ability to work outside the normal office hours working flexibly within the shift pattern allocated by the line manager
