Head of Systems and Architecture

A logistics company is seeking a Head of Systems and Architecture to lead the charge in shaping and governing an organisation-wide technology landscape that supports agility, innovation, and long-term business success.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership position that operates at the intersection of technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and governing the architectural vision, overseeing current-state systems, and enabling a scalable, secure, and future-ready technology environment.
You will lead a small team focused on both operational systems and architecture governance, while playing a pivotal role in cross-functional planning, delivery assurance, and enterprise-wide technology alignment.
Key Responsibilities
? Strategic Technology & Architecture Leadership

• Define and own the enterprise architecture vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and future scalability.
• Serve as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, translating business strategy into actionable technology roadmaps.

? Stakeholder Management & Business Alignment

• Partner with executive and functional leaders to understand business objectives and ensure technology investments deliver measurable outcomes.
• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, influencing priorities and enabling innovation.

? Enterprise Architecture & Integration Governance

• Govern architecture across application, data, infrastructure, integration, and security domains.
• Lead architectural oversight, including design reviews and solution assurance across key initiatives.

? Risk, Governance & Vendor Oversight

• Ensure compliance with architecture principles, security policies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with technology strategy and value delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on enterprise architecture and systems integration.
• Strong track record of aligning complex technology landscapes with evolving business strategies.
• Deep expertise in integration architecture, cloud platforms, and modern enterprise systems.
• Proven ability to influence at the executive level and translate technical strategy into business value.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and architecture modelling tools.
• Confident in driving IT governance, vendor management, and risk oversight in complex or regulated environments.
